Crenshaw visits Jacksonville Beach for campaign

Congressman Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., visited Jacksonville Beach for a campaign stop on Monday.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Many of the officials from Jacksonville, Neptune and Atlantic beaches who have endorsed Ander Crenshaw's candidacy for Congress invited the Congressman to a campaign event on Monday at a Jacksonville Beach store.

Crenshaw is credited with being instrumental in getting $1.1 billion in IRS funding cuts passed for the 2015 fiscal year.

"The real cornerstone of our economy is small business," Crenshaw said. "Seventy five percent of all the new jobs in our country get created by small businesses, just like this. So for me to be here, to see first-hand what's going on, to see the role that they play in getting our country moving again, creating more jobs, that's important."

Crenshaw, a Republican, represents the 4th Congressional District.

Crenshaw said the biggest project he's worked on with local officials is bringing more ships to Mayport, which stimulates the economy.
