FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – The reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the grand theft and felony vandalism of the King Neptune/Poseidon statue on South Fletcher Avenue has been increased to $3,000, according to the Fernandina Beach Police Department.
The reward has initially set at $1,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS (8477) or the Fernandina Beach Police Department at 904-277-7342. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.
Police said two people broke the arm of a Poseidon statue and stole its trident earlier this month -- the third trident to be stolen in similar fashion in recent months.
The front yard statue sits at Paradiso at 3036 South Fletcher Ave.
During the most recent incident, the vandals caused such a significant amount of damage that the owners are now considering having the statue removed.
The vandals left a taunting note affixed to the statue, leading investigators to believe that the thefts may be resolved once students return to college, police said.
