Oviedo High School to retire Blake Bortles jersey, induct him into Hall of Fame

Bortles expected to be at Friday's game, athletics officials say

OVIEDO, Fla. – Oviedo High School will retire Blake Bortles' jersey at its season-opening game on Friday as Bortles is inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.

According to athletics officials, Bortles will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony prior to the game.

Bortles' jersey will be retired during halftime, officials said.

Bortles is expected to be at the home game Friday against Lake Brantley High School. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

Bortles, who was recruited by the University of Central Florida after graduating from Oviedo High School in 2010, was the first quarterback drafted in June's NFL draft. He drafted third overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
