Substitute banned from Landmark Middle

Teacher accused of making inappropriate comment about student

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A local substitute teacher has been told she cannot come back to a middle school in East Arlington because of comments she is accused of making about a student.

The woman was substitute teaching at Landmark Middle School.

A student's mother said the teacher commented on her son's earrings and said his ears are pierced "because he's a bisexual."

The staffing company that employs the teacher gave News4Jax this statement: "Kelly Educational Staffing is concerned about any report of inappropriate behavior and takes these matters very seriously. The alleged incident is being reviewed."

School officials said the woman is not allowed back at Landmark Middle, but at this point, she's allowed to substitute teach at other schools.
