2 arrested, 1 sought in Mandarin home invasion robbery
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were arrested and police are looking for a third in connection with the home invasion robbery of a Mandarin woman who was tied up and pistol-whipped in her home.
Jay Brown, 22, and Deante Givens, 21, are charged in the Saturday morning home invasion robbery of a woman who was preparing for a garage sale on Anamoree Lane.
Police said the suspects entered the woman's garage between 4:15 a.m. and 4:55 a.m., displayed handguns and forced the woman back inside her home. Police said the men demanded money and tied the woman up, then struck her in the head and fled with her purse and two cellphones when the woman's husband returned home.
Police said the men then went over two fences to an adjacent area and left in a white vehicle driven by Michael Jones, 21, who remains at-large.
According to the arrest reports, the suspects discarded items as they fled, including a gun that was recovered behind a nearby fire station. Brown was arrested while looking for something in the area about six hours later.
Givens was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home in Northwest Jacksonville, and a warrant was issued for Jones' arrest.
Anyone who has any information on Jones' whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
