Fire engulfs 2-story building in Union County

UNION COUNTY, Fla. – An unused two-story building was engulfed by fire Monday in Union County.

The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. in the building on East Main Street.

Lt. Daniel Williams, of the Union County Sheriff's Office, said the building hadn't been used in years. He said the upstairs was an old apartment, and downstairs was an old business that was being used for storage.

Williams believes there was a dog inside, but will not know for sure until the Fire Marshal investigates.

All traffic was being detoured and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
