Woman using stolen credit card wanted

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is seeking a woman in connection with the fraudulent use of a credit card last month at a Racetrack Road grocery store.

The victim, who recently moved to the St. Johns area from Georgia, reported finding two fraudulent charges on a credit card that was still in her possession. She also received information from Home Depot that her card was compromised.

Detectives obtained surveillance images of the woman whom they call a suspect who used the victim's credit card number twice at the same cash register on Sept. 25.

The Sheriff's Office said the person they are looking for is a heavyset black woman wearing a pink jogging suit and white sneakers. She also has dark curly hair that was tied in a ponytail at the time of the transaction.

Anyone who can identify the woman in the photos is asked to contact Sgt. Kevin Cronin at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-1966. You can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers of N.E. Florida at 888-277-TIPS (8477).
