ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Court documents paint a graphic picture of what led up to a brutal killing of a mother of three in a St. Augustine Shores home last month.
Investigators said Ray Davis killed his live-in fiancee, Rachel Lutinski, while her three children were there. Investigators said the 39-year-old died of blunt force trauma.
Deputies said when they arrived at the home, they found Lutinski naked on the kitchen floor.
In the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office report, Deputy Edward Scoggins wrote, "Lutinski's lips were blue and her eyes were open and unmoving."
Deputies said they were called after Lutinski's fiance -- 56-year-old Davis (pictured) -- flagged down a neighbor and said the woman was having an emergency. Deputies said Davis was covered in blood.
"I could clearly see blood covering his (Davis') hands, arms and legs," Scoggins wrote.
"I observed what appeared to be blood drag marks," another deputy wrote.
Evidence collected includes reddish brown stains on the front of the washing machine, on the laundry room floor, on a dish soap container in the kitchen, on the kitchen floor and on a child's car seat.
Deputies said they had to grab Davis from behind and "take him to the ground" to secure him.
Deputies said they were called to Davis' home at least three times before this, but those calls weren't related to domestic violence.
Davis has been charged with second-degree murder in the Lutinski case. He's awaiting a court date.
