The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation announced that Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley will once again be the honorary Coach of the 5th annual McKenzie's Run on November 22, 2014. The 5K run and walk and one-mile fun run starts at 9:30 a.m. at EverBank Field. This is the only race event in Jacksonville that will start AND finish inside EverBank Field, where participants can see themselves cross the finish line on the new video boards.
The annual all-ages event benefits The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to help young people - locally and globally - recognize their full potential. Locally, The Foundation operates two McKenzie's Academic Resource Centers, where free academic programs are provided to over 300 at-risk students. Programs include after-school tutoring and mentoring, early learning story time, teen development programs and adult English classes. The Foundation also challenges students throughout Jacksonville to care, give and grow by joining one of the eleven McKenzie Clubs and volunteering as a mentor. Globally, The Foundation has funded the building of three orphanages in Uganda, Africa. The orphanages, called Amaka ga McKenzie – Lugandan for McKenzie's Home – provide a home, food, an education and medical care for over 70 children.
Immediately following the run there will be a celebration with live music, games, an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, awards ceremony and an autograph signing by Jaguar's ROAR Cheerleaders.
The 2014 McKenzie's Run is sponsored by EverBank, The Players Championship, The Jaguars Foundation, Acosta, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Black Knight Financial Services and Action News.
