JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were injured and taken to the hospital after a crash at Commonwealth and Melson avenues early Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Around 2:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to the two-vehicle accident at the Westside intersection.

JSO investigators said a truck was westbound on Commonwealth Avenue and a car was northbound on Melson Avenue when they collided in the intersection. The driver of the car and one of two passengers in the car were both transported to the hospital. The second passenger in the car and the driver of the truck were checked and released by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue at the scene.
The intersection reopened after JSO completed its investigation around 6:30 a.m.
