St. Augustine mayor sworn in Monday night

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – St. Augustine now has its second female mayor, Nancy Shaver, who was sworn in Monday evening.

She unseated incumbent Mayor Joe Boles by just over 100 votes earlier this month. Shaver ran on a platform of providing core services to the people of St. Augustine.

"Tonight for me is a very humbling experience, because I know what my job is, which is not to be me, it's to represent everybody in this city and I'm excited about it and I'm humbled," said Shaver.

Shaver said one of her first tasks will be to re-examine how the city will celebrate its 450th anniversary next year.
