4 hurt in Westside crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Traffic was slow on Blanding Boulevard early Thursday afternoon after a crash near the intersection of St. Johns Avenue on the Westside that injured four people.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a vehicle was at a stop sign at St. Johns Avenue and Blanding Boulevard attempting to cross Blanding, when the driver failed to see a vehicle traveling northbound on Blanding and hit the car, sending it into the Personal Injury Physicians building on Blanding.

Troopers said the car then became partially engulfed in flames, causing minimal damage to the building. The two passengers in the car where transported to St. Vincent's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the car that failed to see the oncoming car were transported to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
