NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A 70-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a crash on Count Road 121 in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
James Walter Paschal III of St. George, Georgia, was driving a 1996 Saturn northbound on CR 121. The car traveled to the right of the roadway and the front left of the car hit the guardrail, causing the car to flip and land right side up in a shallow creek.
Paschal, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, according to the FHP report.
A Nassau County road maintenance employee working in the area reported finding the car in the creek north of Batten Road around 8 a.m. Monday.
