Detectives seek help in '97 disappearance

Robert Patrick Picard

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in solving a case involving the disappearance of Robert Patrick Picard, who was reported missing Sept. 30, 1997.

At the time of his disappearance, the 37-year-old was living in a trailer he had been renting on West County Road 2006 in the Mondex area of Bunnell. When the incident was initially investigated, the scene suggested that foul play was involved in the disappearance of the man.

Detectives said they have recently discovered new information that has caused them to reopen the case.

"We believe that someone may have information relevant to the disappearance of Mr. Picard and that at the time that person may have been reluctant to come forward out of concern for their own safety," said Cpl. Nate Koep. "We want to provide the Picard family with answers about what happened to their loved one."

Anyone with any information on the disappearance is asked to call Detective Mark Moy at 386-586-4899 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477.
