JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 28-year-old Jacksonville man was hit by a car and killed late Monday night on the Westside, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Tyler Harmer was trying to cross Normandy Boulevard at Lamplighter Lane about 11:40 p.m. when he was hit by an eastbound car approaching the intersection.

Harmer died at the scene.
The driver of the car, 26-year-old Autumn Cavey, of Middleburg, suffered minor injuries.
The roadway was closed for some time while troopers investigated the crash.
Troopers said charges are pending.
