Yulee man fights off intruders with sword

YULEE, Fla. – A 43-year-old man fought off six intruders with a sword inside his Yulee home on Monday afternoon, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Brown was inside his home on Johnson Lake Road when four intruders entered, armed with bats, according to the police report. They found Brown in the living room and a fight began, but Brown was able to break free and obtained a sword, which he kept in his home. Two other suspects remained outside.

Brown hit one of the intruders in the arm, causing a large cut that required medical treatment at UF Health Jacksonville.

After Brown hit the intruder, the others left the home and picked up large rocks outside, throwing them at the home attempting to strike Brown and other victims inside.

Three of the intruders stayed at the scene and three others fled the scene but were caught by a Nassau County deputy.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
