Police: Man arrested, didn't pay for dry cleaning

Steve Ruben Jean-Jacques faces larceny charge


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man is behind bars after he retrieved his clothing item from a dry cleaner and walked out without paying, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Police said Steve Ruben Jean-Jacques, 34, entered the dry cleaner upset with the service. He was also upset at the employee standing behind the counter.

According to investigators, Jacques shoved the employee out of the way and retrieved his clothing item valued at $10.50. He then walked out without paying.

Jacques faces a larceny charge. Records show he had a prior battery conviction.
