Troopers said the driver, 43-year-old Cary Johnson, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers are investigating the cause, but said Johnson may have fallen asleep and run off the road. Johnson may have woken up, over-corrected and overturned onto the roadway, troopers said.

When the trailer overturned, several pieces of furniture spilled onto the roadway, blocking several lanes.

All northbound lanes of U.S. 301, just north of County Road 218 were closed for several hours while crews removed the furniture from the roadway and towed the trailer away. The roadway reopened about 7:30 a.m.
