The Lake City Police Department said shortly after 1 a.m. on Monday, Michael Tickle and Mckenzie Adams were stopped at the Keep It Clean Car Wash on SW Real Terrace and SW Branford Highway.

Drawdy approached them and pulled a black Glock semi-automatic handgun out of his jacket and pointed it at Tickle, demanding he hand over the keys, according to police.

Drawdy took the vehicle and Tickle and Adams called police, according to LCPD.

They provided a description of the suspect and shortly after 2 a.m., a sergeant located the stolen truck at the B&B Food Store at SR-247 and CR-242.  It was unoccupied.

During the carjacking investigation, the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office contacted LCPD to advise they were investigating an aggravated assault with firearm and Drawdy was the suspect in that case.  SCSO said he was possibly dropped off at the Steak-N-Shake in Lake City.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation and tried to contact Drawdy at his parents' residence.  Drawdy said he was lying in a ditch after seeing their patrol cars and he fell asleep, according to LCPD.  It's unclear why investigators didn't arrest him at that time or if they just couldn't physically locate him.

Investigators returned to the home around lunchtime and spoke with Drawdy.  He showed them the location of the firearm used in the crime and was interviewed at the police department.

Drawdy was arrested and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center and held on a $50,000 bond.
