Man shot in chest in Northwest Jacksonville

Injuries said to be non life-threatening

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot in the chest Saturday night in Northwest Jacksonville and the shooter is still at large, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police were called to the intersection of Prospect and Lem Turner Road in reference to a person shot at about 6:30 p.m. They found a 40-year-old man lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Detectives said two men were seen fleeing the scene after the incident. They are still trying to locate the suspected shooter.

The man shot was taken to the hospital. His injuries are said to be non life-threatening and he is expected to be okay.
