1 killed in Disney bus crash

3-vehicle wreck happens near Coronado Springs resort


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – One person was killed early Monday in a crash involving a car and a Disney World bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 2:25 a.m. on Buena Vista Drive at Western Way near the entrance to the Coronado Springs resort. Roads were closed in the area.

According to FHP Cpl. Daniel Jonas, the driver of a car was making a left turn from Western Way onto Buena Vista Drive and pulled in front of the bus, resulting in the crash.

None of the 25 passengers aboard the bus was injured, Jonas said.

A third car, which was traveling next to the Disney bus, sustained minor damage in the crash, Jonas said.

No other details, including the victim's name, have been released.
