LAKE CITY, Fla. – A 30-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with DUI, three counts of negligent homicide and other charges, in connection with a crash almost a year ago in Columbia County.

The chain-reaction crash in Lake City killed a young couple and their unborn baby on Highway 441. Troopers said 20-year-old Jennifer Duncan was driving a Smart Car with 21-year-old Kenneth Pelletier when David Huckaba hit them with his Camaro.

Investigators said Huckaba swerved into Duncan's lane, rear-ending her Smart Car before pushing the car into another lane, where it was hit by Matthew Schroader's Chevy Cavalier.

Schroader was taken to UF Health Gainesville with serious injuries.

Both Duncan and Pelletier died at the scene. Duncan was six months pregnant.

Huckaba was not injured.
