JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police say three men went to a San Souci home on March 20, 2014,  intending to steal a quarter-pound of marijuana. When the armed robbery erupted in gunfire, the victim and one of the robbers were shot.

Officers dispatched to Mandell Drive near University Boulevard West that night found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where Williams died and the a 25-year-old target of the robbery, who was never named, was taken into surgery.

After 10 months of investigation, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has charged Lorenzo Brown, 19, and Alfred Smart, 17, with second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Sean Williams.
