JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The deadline is fast approaching if you want to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

Cover Jacksonville hosted an ACA registration event Saturday at the Regency Square Mall.

Navigators were on site to help with registration and to assist people by answering questions they had about the Affordable Care Act.

So far, about 1.2 million Floridians have selected a plan or re-enrolled since open enrollment began Nov. 15th.  But nearly 4-million still uninsured.

If you have not signed up, there are still about 4 weeks left to sign up for coverage.
If you do not sign up for coverage before the deadline, you will face a fine when you file your 2015 tax return.

This year the fine is $325 per adult, or 2 percent of household income, whichever is greater. That is an increase from the $95 per adult or 1 percent of household income penalty from last year.
