Local company to 'Pay It Forward' after burglary

Family's Westside home broken into while they were at the hospital having baby

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4Jax first told you earlier this month how local Youth Pastor Aaron Harris and his wife Janine were at the hospital for the birth of their first child, only to discover when they returned home, everything they own -- including new baby items for their son A.J. -- was stolen.

After the story aired, Keller Williams Realty in Jacksonville decided to turn this crime against the Harris family into a chance to "Pay It Forward."

Agents who work with Keller Williams know Aaron and Janine personally, as the company helped them purchase their home on the Westside a few years ago. Although more than $10,000 worth of items were taken during the break-in, the couple has refused outside help to replace any of it. Aaron points to other families at his Youth Ministry at Emanuel Baptist, who he says are in greater need.  So in the Harris' honor, Keller Williams wants to help those families.

It's being called "Pay It Forward for AJ." It's being held Wednesday, January 28 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Keller Williams Atlantic Partners Southside Office located at 8702 Perimeter Park Boulevard.

Everyone is invited for free hot dogs, burgers and some fun. Those who want to give a donation can. It will be accepted on the Harris' behalf to benefit the Youth Ministry at Emanuel Baptist. Print a flyer for the event here and share with friends and family.
