Bicyclist injured in Palm Coast hit-and-run collision

PALM COAST, Fla. – Flagler Sheriff's deputies are investigating a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night that sent a Palm Coast bicyclist in the hospital.

According to authorities, Jordan Cheney, 22, was riding in the crosswalk at the intersection of Florida Park Drive at Farrington Lane about 9 p.m. when he was struck by a car.

Cheney said he rolled onto the hood of the vehicle and hit the front windshield before falling to the pavement. He said the car stopped, and the driver asked if he was OK, but then drove away.

"Although accidents happen, this is a serious incident. Anyone who is involved in a crash resulting in the injury of any person is required to stop their vehicle, provide assistance and wait for law enforcement," said Sheriff James Manfre. "We're hoping that someone will come forward so we can resolve this matter."

The vehicle is described as a gray or silver, four-door Chevrolet Impala that was possibly driven by an older woman. Cheney was transported to Florida Flagler Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office non-emergency phone number at 386-313-4911 or call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
