Man convicted of Christmas Eve burglary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A jury found a 54-year-old man guilty of burglary Thursday for a 2013 Christmas Eve break-in.

According to court documents, Anthony Dywane Perry broke into an apartment on South Lane Avenue on Dec. 24, 2013. Perry shattered a bedroom window to get into the home, cutting himself on the window and leaving blood on the floor. He stole the victim's brand new television and Kindle.

Investigators later matched the blood left at the scene to Perry's DNA.

He now faces 30 years in prison as a habitual offender. His felony convictions include charges for escape and forgery. He will be sentenced the week of March 17.
