Traffic stop leads to high-speed chase

JSO: Suspect tried ramming police cruiser

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver was pulled over in Arlington and taken into custody after he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit down Interstate 295 from the Northside of Jacksonville on Tuesday. The chase ended when the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office put stop sticks on the roadway just south of the Dames Point Bridge. 

JSO said the chase started with an attempted traffic stop. 

During the chase, witnesses said the car hit speeds up to 100 mph and the suspect tried to ram a police cruiser. No officers were hurt. 

The suspect is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
