Middleburg crash leaves one man fighting for his life

2 victims being flown to hospital; FHP investigating

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – Two people were hospitalized Friday morning after a serious accident on County Road 218 at Henley Road in Clay County that blocked the road for most of the day.

Victor Durrence, 29, and 57-year-old Charles Finn were flown by air ambulance to UF Health Jacksonville after what investigators said was a high-speed crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Durrence was driving a 2014 Honda Accord westbound on County Road 218 when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and hit Finn's 2004 Chevy truck head-on.  

Officials said that Durrence is currently in critical condition with life-threatening injuries while Finn is listed as being in serious condition.

FHP is still investigating the accident and have not filed any charges
