Mayor's chief of staff to step down

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After four years of service to Mayor Alvin Brown, Chief of Staff Chris Hand announced that he has decided to move on and resign.

According to Hand, though he has been doing "this all-consuming job longer than any other chief of staff in recent history," he is ready to move on in time for the second term.

Hand said he stayed for longer than he originally planned to help keep retirement reform and other strategic priorities moving down the field, but four years seemed like the right time for him and his family to take the next step in his life and career.

Though he did not give an exact date of when he was leaving, Hand did say that he will continue to work to make Jacksonville a better place to live and work while he was there.
