Man sentenced in 2013 apartment murder

Man killed at Arlington complex

A 20-year-old man is found guilty of first degree murder, as well as other charges, in connection with a 2013 shooting at an Arlington apartment complex.

In October 2013, officers were notified of a shooting that occurred. When police arrived, they found 18-year-old Kamilah Urita and 22-year-old Liston Georges III inside of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Georges sustained life-threatening injuries, but later recovered. Urita was pronounced deceased at the scene. The couple's 10-month-old child, who was also in the vehicle during the shooting, was not harmed.

The investigation revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between 20-year-old Sayton Adair Waller and Georges that began when the two were in high school.

During the incident, Waller confronted the victims after they got into their vehicle. The defendant then fired several shots at them before fleeing the scene.

Waller now faces mandatory life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of June 22.
Assistant State Attorneys Brian Brady and Garrett Hill prosecuted this case.
