Farm Share announces Letter Carriers Food Drive

People can leave food in Publix bags at their mailboxes next Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One in six adult Floridians are hungry or food insecure, according to Farm Share.
Farm Share Food Bank distributed healthy food to the needy on Saturday at the Gateway Mall.

Farm Share works with Florida farmers to prevent food waste and distribute healthy food, like fruit, vegetables, milk, bread, and juices, to those who need it most.

Saturday was their 23rd Annual Letter Carriers food drive kick off and food distribution. The event served as a way to promote the Letter Carriers Food Drive which will happen on Saturday, May 9.

People can leave food distributions in their mailboxes on May 9 in Publix bags that are dropped off at their homes.

Farm Share also visited Tallahassee and Miami on Saturday.

This time of year is when the food pantries are at their lowest supply, with school about to end for the year.
