Witnesses: Driver rescued after speeding car goes into pond off Interstate 95
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – One person is recovering after his car went into a pond on Interstate 95 near the International Golf Parkway overnight.
Witnesses say the driver was going more than 100 mph was he was exiting at International Golf Parkway when the went off the exit ramp, hit some trees and landed in a nearby pond.
Witnesses called 911 and fire and rescue got him out. The driver is OK but was taken to a hospital.
The car was in the pond for about 30 minutes, according to witnesses.
