JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The Shannon Miller 5K and Children's Fun run took place Saturday morning at the Jacksonville Landing. Seven-time Olympic medalist, Shannon Miller was on hand to cheer on almost 2000 participants, families and friends.
The event raised over $20,000 for the Shannon Miller Foundation, all of which stays right here in Northeast Florida to support children's fitness programs. At Saturday's event, children received a free T-shirt, gold medal, and lots of fun. After the run, children and adults alike hammed it up in the photo booth, made a Mother's Day craft and enjoyed a healthy snack.
The morning was rounded out with face painting, bounce house and balloon animals.
The 5K featured everyone from elite runners to walkers and everyone in between! It was a beautiful day at the Landing.
