Man sought in attempted burglary at Pulp store

RIVERSIDE, Fla. – Deputies are searching for a person who attempted to rob the Pulp store in the 3600 block of St. Johns Avenue Thursday around 9:30 a.m.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, a man parked a small, white two-door pickup truck along the Dancy Street side of the business before entering Pulp with a plastic bag and a white handgun with an orange tip.

Deputies said the man pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded she place the money from the register in the bag, but the clerk refused.

The man then reportedly attempted to reach over the counter and open the drawer himself but was unsuccessful.

Deputies said the man then left the store and was last seen driving north on Dancy Street.

The man is described as being white, in his early 30s or 40s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 155-175 pounds.

He has short brown hair and was wearing an orange Florida Gators T-shirt and dark-colored shorts.
