JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man shot several times in the chest Monday night is in the the hospital with life-threatening injuries., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police responding to the 7900 block of Moncrief Dinsmore Road at 10:37 found the man inside a home, with several gunshot wounds.

Before being transported, the victim told police that he was walking down Redpoll Avenue when a male, wearing black clothes, ambushed him and shot him. The suspect fled on foot while the victim ran into the house.
