TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A 55-year-old Jacksonville woman claimed a $3 million top prize in the Flamingo Fortune Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee, the Florida Lottery announced Monday.

Brenda Newton chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,405,928.36.

Newton purchased her winning scratch-off ticket from Sunrise Food Mart at 4354 Blanding Blvd. in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $6,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
