Woman, 26, survives being shot in head
Tommie Wythers arrested in shooting, held on $250,000 bond
LAKE CITY, Fla. – Deputies arrested a man Saturday after they say he shot a woman in the head.
According to the Lake City Police Department, Tommie Orlando Wythers was at 26-year-old Nicole Rae Parker's mother's house Friday around 11:40 p.m. when they got into an argument.
Police said during the argument Wythers pulled out a .380 handgun, pointed it at Parker's head and shot her. The bullet struck her in the head behind the ear and exited out of her lower jaw area.
Wythers fled the area and Parker's friends took her to the hospital, according to police.
Wythers was found a few hours later at Northwest Main Boulevard and Northwest Early Street by Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies.
Wythers was taken into custody, where he was interviewed before being arrested and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility.
Parker was treated and released from the hospital Saturday.
Wythers is being held on a $250,000 bond.
