2 elementary schools locked down due to crime nearby


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two elementary schools in Northwest Jacksonville were locked down briefly Tuesday afternoon after shots were reported in the neighborhood.

School officials confirmed that RV Daniels Elementary and Susie E. Tolbert Elementary were locked down as a precaution when police reported to reports of shots fired in an area off West 13th Street.

News4Jax was told that when officers in the neighborhood did not find that anyone was hit by gunfire the lockout was lifted.
