Bomb squad called to construction site
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Navy was called out Wednesday to remove what appeared to be a piece of military ordnance from a home that was under construction on Branan Field Road.
Workers preparing the site for construction found the device, and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bomb squad determined it was not a live round.
The home site is near Cecil Commerce Center, which used to be the site of a Navy base.
The Navy was called to pick up the ordnance, along with other items found in the ground.
