Man robs Ponte Vedra Beach cellphone store


PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – St. Johns County deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a man who robbed an AT&T store in Ponte Vedra Beach on Sunday afternoon.

Deputies said the man walked into the store on A1A North about 4 p.m. and inquired about various phones. The clerk said the man left for a short period of time, only to return with a black handgun and demanded new unopened phones from the storage room.

After placing the merchandise in a multi-colored bag, he locked the clerk in a store room and walked out of the store and headed north.


The suspect is described as a black man about 6 feet tall with a thick build who was wearing black shorts, black T-shirt, black tennis shoes, black hat and black sunglasses.
