PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla – The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrest 11 in the first round of an operation dubbed "Operation Heat Wave," and several more warrants are out for residents with narcotic law violations.
Nineteen of the suspects have been charged with violations of Florida Statutes and one has been federally indicted for the distribution of a controlled substance.
The warrants come as the result of a six-month series of undercover investigations by the drug and vice unit.

The investigations were conducted throughout Putnam County, with special
attention paid to the San Mateo and southern Putnam County areas. At the conclusion of this particular series of investigations arrest warrants were obtained for twenty suspects.
The roundup of suspects began Friday evening with a combined effort of the Sheriff's Office Drug and Vice Unit and the Street Crimes Unit. At present 11 suspects have been arrested, and nine are still being sought.
