JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bomb threat evacuated the Regency Square Mall Tuesday evening.

Police received a call from mall management around 6:40 p.m.  They reported someone called from an unknown number saying a bomb would be ignited in the food court.

"Shortly after that they received a second call telling them as well a bomb was about to be detonated.  Police responded.  Management decided for customer safety to block off the entire mall," said Sgt. Terry Jones with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Bomb sniffing dogs searched the food court and didn't find a device.

JSO estimated a couple hundred people were in the food court at the time of the threat.

Police said at this point they can't trace the call to figure out where it originated.

Regency Square Mall will reopen Wednesday morning.
