Man crashes car after shooting


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is in the hospital recovering after a shooting downtown, Tuesday night.

Sgt. Rickie Valentine from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reports that the man was shot on Pippin and Franklin streets at 11:40 p.m. He drove less than a mile to Ionia and Pippin streets where he crashed his car.

"Upon arriving, they found a young, black male driver, inside the vehicle. Through their investigation, they found he was suffering from a gunshot wound. JFRD showed up and took him to Shands Medical Center where he is currently being treated," said Sgt. Valentine.
