MELBOURNE, Fla. – Melbourne police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead.
Police said the shooting occurred late Sunday night in the Burger King parking lot at the corner of U.S. 1 and Seminole Boulevard.

No officers were believed to be injured.
Police said the man shot was under surveillance and a person of interest in several recent robberies.
The man was shot in a vehicle and was alone, according to police.
Six officers were involved in the shooting incident.
Crime scene investigators are on the scene collecting evidence.
A news conference will be held Monday morning.
