When officers arrived, they found the men -- one in his late 30s, the other in his mid 40s -- lying outside a white Ford pickup truck. They both had apparent stab wounds, Farhat said.

The younger man, who police said was the driver of the truck, was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries. The other victim was taken to St. Vincent's hospital and is expected to survive, Farhat said. The victims names have not yet been released.

"We're not really sure what occurred. We do know the two individuals are acquaintances of one another," Farhat said. "We believe this is an isolated incident and that both parties are the only two involved."

He said evidence indicated that an altercation might have begun inside the truck.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and Farhat said the names of the victims will be released once their families have been notified.
