The appointments to Director and Chief will be subject to City Council approval. Also, the Sheriff-Elect announced the retention of internal audit head Diana Wendland, who will now lead a section that includes internal audit; staff inspections; accreditation and continuous improvement and will report directly to Undersheriff Pat Ivey.

The announcement also reflects the elimination of two major positions with the consolidation of oversight of the Records and Identification sections, as well as the elimination of one chief in Professional Standards.

Williams said he expects more consolidation and reorganization, as these leaders take over management of their respective divisions and sections.

"I said from day one we would be working hard to improve efficiencies and try and reduce costs where it made sense, operationally," Williams said. "Building my team affords me the unique opportunity to tap for leadership roles those individuals who can continue to contribute far into the future. I am excited about July 1 and want to congratulate everyone for their dedication to our agency and our community."

*Officers are being promoted to a higher rank with the appointment.
