Police arrest serial bank robber

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 45-year-old man is in jail, charged with holding up three banks in Jacksonville over the past six weeks, and police suspect he could be responsible for other bank robberies.

Benjamin Held was charged with robbing the Bank of America in Argyle Forest on May 2, the TD Bank on San Juan Avenue on May 16 and the Jacksonville Bank on San Jose Boulevard last Friday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Held was identified through tips from the public who saw surveillance photos from the robberies (San Juan photo shown) along with evidence left at the banks. 

Police said Held was arrested without incident Sunday during a traffic stop on Jacksonville's Westside. His arrest wasn't made public until Wednesday.
