Arrest made in Jacksonville child sex case

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A federal grand jury has just indicted a Jacksonville man for trying to entice a child to engage in illegal sexual activity Thursday.

According to the State Attorney's Office, 43-year-old Jon Christopher Stoune tried to entice a child, using the internet, to engage in sexual acts.

Stoune still has to face trial but if he is convicted he could face a minimum mandatory 10 years up to life in prison.

Officials said that Stoune was arrested on April 21, in St. Augustine as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
