JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two adults and two children saw smoke coming from a bedroom of their home on Stonehurst Road North at midday Monday and got out safely, according to Jacksonville Fire-Rescue.
Flames were shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived just after noon. Firefighters said the neighborhood doesn't have fire hydrants, so JFRD had to bring in water in tankers.
Initial indications were that the fire started accidentally.
Damage to the house was substantial and The Red Cross is helping the family.
